Let's talk about culture – scientific conference

The leitmotif of this year's edition of the Festival is 'Connected to Culture'. Together with Koszalin University of Technology we are preparing a science conference 'Culture and Disability. Reception – Participation – Therapy'. The conference is addressed mainly to the authorities from cultural places, foundations, associations whose aim is cooperation with artists with disabilities. The conference will be attended e.g. by a representative from Teatr 21 from Warsaw, who will talk about theatre work with people with a Down Syndrome and autism. Teatr 21 has created a dozen plays. The group has performed at festivals in Poland and abroad. Apart from artistic activity, Teatr 21 deals with education, theatre pedagogy, publishing activity.

Ewelina J. Konieczna Ph. D from Pedagogy Sciences Institute of University of Opole will talk about art therapy and artistic activity on the example of an auto biography contest for people with disabilities 'Sience-creators – people for whom creation has a point'.

Professor Wojciech Otto – a film specialist from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań will present artists who have been made films about, e.g. 'Nikifor' by Krzysztof Krauze.

The conference will be accompanied by a photo exhibition 'Different or the Same' which is an outcome of photo workshops for disabled students of University of Szczecin.

The conference will take place on 5th November 2020 between 10.00 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Koszalin University of Technology in Śniadeckich Street.
