Poster of 17th EFF Integration You and Me ready!

Plakat festiwalu w 2020 roku

The author of the poster of the 17th European Film Festival Integration you and Me is Grzegorz Otulakowski, a citizen of Koszalin, a graduate of The Secondary School of Fine Arts in Koszalin. He has studied painting in Poznań at Public Academy of Fine Arts.

Poster – as he points out – is for him a fantastic form of artistic expression because it is non-obvious: 'A poster needs to have a hidden meaning, include a mystery. It is like a riddle. We have three seconds for a choice and these three seconds should stay in our minds' – says the artist.

For Grzegorz Otulakowski lettering is important. A characteristic feature of his posters is letter 'C' in word 'integracja' /integration/ in a form of a commonly known symbol of a person with a disability using a wheelchair.

Designing the poster of Integration You and Me Festival has been a great challenge. He admits that first and foremost he has wanted to express emotions concerning disability. He has wondered what feeling it would evoke in him if he was disabled. The head movement of the red-haired girl in the poster expresses her strong emotions. We look at the character through the eye of a film camera and we imagine what she is feeling. A poster is like a film: everyone sees it differently, everyone understands it in their own way.
