Science conference

Koszalin Social-Cultural Association, Joachim Lelewel Koszalin Public Library, the organisers of 13th EFF Integration You and Me and Humanistic department of Koszalin Technical University invite for a science conference Film – Sport – Disability which will take place on September 8th 2016 between 11.00 a.m. and 2.15 p.m. in Emerald Room, Gromada Hotel in Koszalin.

The conference will be devoted to chosen phenomena related to sport of people with disability placed in a broader, social-cultural and/or medical context. The reason for placing sport of the people with disability this year as the main topic of the conference are Paralympic Games.

During the conference there are planned five lectures of specialists in the field of sport, psychology, medical sciences media and film science. The meeting will be closed by a discussion panel 'The role and meaning of sport in the life of people with disability' with the disabled sports people.

Speakers:

prof. nadzw. dr Bassam Aouil – a psychologist and sexologist, professor at Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, the president of Polish Therapeutic Association, expert in the field of psycho-social and sexual rehabilitation of the disabled.

prof. nadzw. dr hab. med. Dariusz Kwolek – a clinical biochemist, a specialist in the field of rehabilitation and public health, a university teacher and expert of the Ministry of Health and ONZ. He is also an author scientific publications concerning neurological rehabilitation, neurophisology, pharmacology, new active substances and preventive treatment through sport.

dr Piotr Szarszewski – a media specialist, cultural studies graduate, cultural studies specialisation at Audiovisual Art Institute of the Jagiellonian University.  The author of books Satanism in Poland. An attempt of the analysis of the phenomenon and Anticultural image of new religious movements in the media reality perspective.
prof. nadzw. dr hab. Wojciech Otto – a film and media specialist, professor at Adam Mickiewicz university in Poznań, the head of Film, Television and New Media Department. The author of the following books: The images of disability in the Polish film, Literature and film in the culture of interwar period, a monography Zdzisław Maklakiewicz and numerous film and media publications.

mgr inż. Romuald Rasiak – a representative of Poland in volleyball, a Paralympic sports person (a silver medalist from 1980), a social and self-government activist, a trainer of people with disability. He has been awarded many times, e.g. with silver and bronze medals for outstanding sport achievements, medal Per aspera ad astra with the title Outstanding Polish Sports Person  and a bronze medal for the merits of Olympic movement.
