Maciej Sochal, an athlete from Koszalin and our Festival's friend has won a Gold Medal at Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in club throw. He has scored the result of 33.91 m. We'd all kept our fingers crossed and he's made it! A few days ago he was also the fourth in shot put.
Maciej is trained by Aleksander Popławski. He trains in a gym of Disabled Sport Association 'Start' in Koszalin. He has taken part in Paralympic Games for the third time. He went to Rio as a Europe Champion and a world record holder in club throw. He had been dreaming of a gold medal. He deserves the medal as an award for his persistence, discipline and steadfastness.
