For the second time, together with the Youth Diabetes Club of Koszalin, we organize the event called ‘Bike Off Diabetes – Welcome Integration!’. It will take place on the last day of the festival, September 6th. Last year, dozens of participants dressed in blue travelled on their bikes through the main street of the city to manifest their disagreement to life in the shadow of diabetes and to promote the idea of integration.
People of all ages can join us. Participants gather on September 6th, 2014 (Saturday) at 3 p.m. in front of the St. Wojciech Church (kościół św. Wojciecha, ul. Zwycięstwa 248). Before we set off, there will be a short first aid training, and the participants will receive blue T-shirts. It will be a start point for our event. The route goes through Zwycięstwa to Rynek Staromiejski, then Młyńska to plac Kilińskiego and Kościuszki to plac Polonii (route length is about 4 km). At 5 pm. in front of the library, there will be a grand finale of our event – we will create a blue circle, international diabetics’ symbol, and we will release blue balloons into the air.
